Discounted Annual Memberships

Citi Bike aims to offer New Yorkers an affordable, accessible and fun new transportation option. Certain residents are eligible for a discounted Annual Membership to the system.

Who Qualifies

All New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) residents as well as members of select New York City Community Development Credit Unions (CDCUs) qualify for a $60 Annual Citi Bike Membership – a $89 saving off the regular price.

How to Purchase a Discounted Membership

A discounted Annual Membership is purchased online using a credit or debit card. Every Annual Member will be mailed a unique key that is used to unlock a bicycle from the docking system.

To purchase a $60 discounted Annual Membership, NYCHA residents and members of participating credit unions must enter a valid discount code on the Citi Bike Sign Up page. More information on discount codes can be found below.

You'll need a credit or debit card to sign up. Don't have one? Visit one of the Community Development Credit Unions listed below to start a credit or checking account. Anyone who opens a new credit or checking account at a partner credit union becomes eligible for a discounted Annual Membership to Citi Bike.

Every NYCHA resident age 16 and older is eligible for one discounted Annual Membership. An Annual Membership is not transferable, and a member key must not be shared.

Each discount code is unique to each NYCHA resident, is not transferable, and is valid for one use per 365 days.

Payment Details

Discounted Annual Memberships are subject to the same pricing structure as regular Annual Memberships. Find full details on the Pricing page.

Remember, trips that are shorter than 45 minutes are no extra charge. After the first 45 minutes, overtime fees kick in; it's an additional $2.50 for the following half hour, $6.50 for the next, $9 for every half hour after that. A trip begins when a bike is unlocked and ends when the bike is securely returned to any Citi Bike station. Avoid overtime fees by returning your bike to any Citi Bike station within 45 minutes of unlocking the bike.

When you sign up for Citi Bike, your credit or debit card account will be billed the $60 discounted Annual membership charge immediately upon submitting your membership application through the Sign Up page. Overtime fees will be billed to your credit or debit card account of the third day of each month of your membership.

Annual Members are able to view their billing statements, including all membership charges and overtime fees, anytime. Just visit the Log In page and enter your Citi Bike Annual Member account information.
