Citi Bike

$5/month for NYCHA and SNAP

rfbs-header-logo-v3
Citi Bike, the nation's largest bike share system, is partnering with Healthfirst to expand access to bike share through $5 monthly memberships for NYCHA residents and SNAP recipients that do not require an annual commitment.

Citi Bike is a faster and more active transportation option that is perfect for getting to work or school, running errands or attending social events, and connecting to other forms of transit – saving you both time and money.

With your membership you can take as many rides as you want while your membership is active, and the first 45 minutes of each ride are included in your plan when you ride a Citi Bike classic bike. Just sign into the Citi Bike app or pick up a key to unlock thousands of bikes across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx and Jersey City.

Additional Pricing

The first 45 minutes of each ride are included in the monthly membership price.

If you upgrade to an ebike, it will be an extra $0.06/minute, capped at $3 for rides 45 minutes or less that start or end outside Manhattan.

If you keep a bike out for longer than 45 minutes at a time, regardless of type or destination, it will cost $0.17 per minute.

Renewing Your Membership

A new Citi Bike app recently launched, with features to make rides smoother and more convenient. As part of the update, upon enrollment, every Reduced Fare Bike Share membership will now be a $5/month plan with automatic renewals.

Once members have updated their Citi Bike app, they can enroll in the new plan through either the app or website to continue riding. There’s no need to re-submit eligibility documents.

Opt out at any time. Once RFBS members are enrolled in the new monthly plan, they’ll receive a reminder email 5 days before their next automatic monthly membership payment so they can adjust their membership if needed.
