Citi Bike is partnering with Healthfirst to expand access to bike share through a no-commitment, $5 monthly membership for NYCHA residents and SNAP recipients!
Citi Bike is a fun, healthy and affordable way to get around the city. It’s designed for quick trips with convenience in mind, and can be especially helpful in getting you where you need to go when traditional public transit options might be limited.
When you become a member, we’ll send you a key that unlocks thousands of bikes around Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and Jersey City. You can take as many rides as you want while your membership is active, and the first 45 minutes of each ride are included in your plan when you ride a Citi Bike classic bike. When you upgrade your ride to an electric bike, it will be an additional $0.50/ride ($2 for non-Reduced Fare Bike Share Members). Citi Bike electric is temporarily unavailable. See theblog for more details.
There’s no annual commitment for NYCHA residents and SNAP recipients. After the first 30 days, you won’t be charged until you ride again (this excludes any upgrades to an electric bike or extra time fees) – putting the power of our pricing in your pocket.
To ride again after your initial 30-day membership expires, simply take your key, or use our mobile phone app to unlock a bike at any station. This will activate your next 30-day membership period for just $5. We don’t auto-renew your membership every 30 days if you don’t ride, so you never have to worry about having to pay for a service you’re not using.
*If you don't have a credit or debit card, visit a participating Community Development Credit Union to open an account.
The first 45 minutes of each ride are included in the monthly membership price when you ride a Citi Bike classic bike. If you keep a bike out for longer than 45 minutes at a time, regardless of the type, it’s $2.50 for each additional 15 minutes.
When you upgrade your ride to an electric bike, it will be an additional $0.50/ride. Citi Bike electric is temporarily unavailable. See theblog for more details.
